The official language of the Congress is English. Abstracts, PowerPoint slides and posters must be in English and Authors are strongly encouraged to present their communications in this language.
All the participants to the Congress are invited to submit abstracts for oral communications, flash communications and posters.
Each registered participant can present a maximum of two contributions.
Plenary lectures. Plenary lectures are held on invitation by national and international researchers and have a duration of 40 minutes, including discussion.
Oral communications. Oral communications have a duration of 15 minutes, including discussion. At the sole discretion of the Scientific Committee, a limited number of oral communications regarding topics of particular relevance and/or general interest will be selected as keynote communications, which have a duration of 20 minutes, including discussion.
Flash communications. Flash communications have a duration of 3 minutes, with no discussion. As an alternative to PowerPoint presentations, flash communications can consist of video clips (maximum 3 minutes length), which will be commented by the author. Please note that the video clips must be sent in advance to the organizing committee for uploading to the conference room PCs (details on the format of the video clips and on the transfer procedure will be provided later).
Since no discussion is planned, the authors of accepted flash communication must also present a poster.
For all communications, a video projector connected to a PC equipped with Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 will be available.
Posters. The nominal space available for each poster is 70x100 cm (width x height). The billposting material (double sided tape, drawing pins, etc.) will be available on site. At least one author for each poster must be present during the poster session for the discussion of the work.
The type of contribution requested (oral communication, keynote communication, flash communication or poster) must be indicated during the submission of the abstract. For oral and flash communications, a reference topic must also be provided. Given the limited number of oral and flash communications, the Authors may be invited to change the status of their communication to poster.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is April 30, 2018. Afterwards, the submitted abstracts can only be considered for posters.
The abstract must be formatted following the instructions given in the template, and saved and uploaded as PDF files.
Acceptance of the contribution
After evaluation by the Scientific Committee, a formal acceptance of the contribution will be sent to the submitting author. For publication of the abstract in the official program and in the Proceedings of the Congress at least one of the Authors must register before August 31, 2018.
